Also referred to as tooth decay or caries, cavities are caused by a combination of factors, including bacteria in your mouth, frequent snacking, sipping sugary drinks and so much more. It\u2019s among the world\u2019s most common health problems, especially in children and teens. If they aren\u2019t treated, they get larger and affect deeper layers of your teeth not visible to the eye. Severe toothaches, infection and tooth loss have resulted from patients who didn\u2019t treat their cavity.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Symptoms To Look Out For<\/h3>\n<p>The signs and symptoms of cavities vary depending on their extent and location. One thing is for sure \u2013 a cavity is not something you want to deal with. When a cavity is born, you may not experience any symptoms. However, once the decay increases in size, the signs and symptoms become more apparent.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Toothache<\/li>\n<li>Tooth sensitivity<\/li>\n<li>Mild to sharp pain when eating or drinking something sweet, hot or cold<\/li>\n<li>Visible holes or pits in your teeth<\/li>\n<li>Brown, black or white staining on any surface of a tooth<\/li>\n<li>Pain when you bite down<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any or all of these symptoms can combine and result in a terrible dental experience for a patient.
